Release 2025.09
New features, enhancements and updates implemented by Payrexx with the release on 16 September 2025.
Various existing features have been optimized in this release. New API interfaces and functions have also been introduced. The following points provide an overview of all the new features.
New Features
New payment method for crypto payments in Payrexx Pay
With the newly integrated payment method "Crypto", payments with cryptocurrencies are now directly integrated into Payrexx Pay. This allows merchants to accept crypto payments without having to sign a separate contract with a crypto payment provider.

Payrexx Pay is Payrexx's standard payment provider, combining all common Swiss payment methods in one package and can be activated with just a few clicks.

Payrexx Pay and Payrexx Pay PlusMore flexibility in managing VAT on invoices
To ensure correct VAT processing on invoices, various enhancements have been implemented for the Invoice Tool:
It is now possible to remove VAT from the invoice and select the corresponding reason for VAT exemption.
Depending on your selection, Payrexx hides the VAT and automatically adds the correct information text to the PDF invoice.
The following options are available:
VAT applicable: This is the default setting. This option is selected if VAT is to be applied to the invoice as normal.
Not VAT registered: This option is selected by merchants who fall under the small business regulation and are therefore not subject to VAT.
VAT-exempt supply: This option is selected for tax-exempt deliveries or services. Examples include certain cultural services or educational offerings.
Export (outside EU/CH/LI): This option is selected for sales outside your own economic area (e.g., Switzerland to the EU). These exports are usually exempt from VAT.
Intra-EU supply: This option is intended for cross-border sales to business customers within the EU and is used in conjunction with the recipient's VAT identification number (VAT ID).
Reverse charge: This option is selected when the tax liability is transferred to the recipient(s) of the service. This is the case for certain intra-Community services or deliveries. A corresponding note is then added automatically.

In addition, it is now possible to store the sales tax identification number (VAT ID) of business customers directly on the invoice. This facilitates the correct processing of B2B transactions within the EU, as it is a legal requirement for tax-exempt deliveries to provide the VAT ID as proof of tax exemption.
Optimizations
Improved payment processing in iFrames
The Payrexx payment gateway can be integrated into the website using a button, link, iFrame, or modal window. Previously, certain payment methods such as PostFinance Pay, REKA, Tink, and Coinbase were hidden in the iFrame because they were incompatible due to certain restrictions.
Now, breakIframe=1
can be added to the iFrame URL so that these payment methods are also displayed. When paying with one of these payment methods, the customer is simply redirected out of the iFrame and can complete the payment as normal.
To integrate the payment gateway as an iFrame, you can select the appropriate integration type in the plugin settings. This generates the HTML code required to integrate the gateway.

Improved recording of all payment attempts via Payrexx Pay
Previously, a transaction was only fully recorded if the payment was successful. Now, every time a customer clicks on the "Pay" button, a transaction is created in the database. This also applies if the customer cancels the payment process (for example, during 3D Secure authentication).
This gives merchants a complete overview of all payment attempts via Payrexx Pay. This helps with analyzing problems and enables better control of all transactions. An automated system (cron job) regularly cleans up these canceled attempts and marks them as "cancelled."

In the following article, you will learn everything about the possible payment statuses and what they mean:

Simplification of plugin connection
It is now possible to easily connect Payrexx accounts to an online shop using a new "Connect" button. Previously, the correct API key had to be transferred manually.

In addition, plugins now transmit the installed plugin version and other important integration information directly to the Payrexx interface (API). This is useful because it simplifies and speeds up troubleshooting and support. If a problem occurs, our team can immediately view all relevant details, such as the exact plugin version, without having to ask for them first.
In the following section, you will find all available shop plugins for integration into online shop systems:
MyCommerceGambio: Correct address synchronization with house number
Addresses in Payrexx and in the Gambio shop are now fully synchronized, and the house number is also transferred correctly. This prevents errors in invoicing and customer management.
