# Google Pay

## General Information

Google Pay is a digital payment service that allows customers to pay online easily and securely with their Android devices.

Merchants in Switzerland can activate Google Pay in [Payrexx Pay](https://docs.payrexx.com/merchant/english/payment-provider/payrexx-pay), while merchants outside Switzerland can use [Payrexx Pay Plus](https://docs.payrexx.com/merchant/english/payment-provider/payrexx-pay).

## Country Availability

Google Pay is available within [Payrexx Pay and Payrexx Pay Plus](https://docs.payrexx.com/merchant/english/payment-provider/payrexx-pay). The payment method is therefore available to merchants based in :flag\_ch: Switzerland, :flag\_li: Liechtenstein, :flag\_at: Austria, :flag\_de: Germany, :flag\_it: Italy, :flag\_fr: France, :flag\_lu: Luxembourg, :flag\_dk: Denmark, and :flag\_bg: Bulgaria:

By activating Google Pay, you, as a merchant, accept the [Acceptable Use Policy](https://payments.developers.google.com/terms/aup) and the [Terms of Service](https://payments.developers.google.com/terms/sellertos) of the Google Pay API.

Please note that when using Google Pay, the usual transaction fees of the credit card stored in the wallet will apply.

## Fees

The Visa transaction fees vary depending on the Payrexx [plan](https://docs.payrexx.com/merchant/english/account/settings/plan-and-billing) you choose. For more information, please refer to our [pricing overview](https://payrexx.com/en/prices).

## Setup

Please make sure to [log in](https://login.payrexx.com/en/) to Payrexx before you begin. If you don't have an account yet, please [register](https://signup.payrexx.com/en/email-validation/) with Payrexx.

To receive payments via Google Pay, you simply need to activate the payment method in your Payrexx account. Follow these steps:

* Navigate to **Payment providers** in the main menu of your Payrexx account.
* Click on "Configure" next to Payrexx Pay Plus:

Merchants from Switzerland click on "Configure" next to Payrexx Pay.

* Check the box for Google Pay:

* Click the green "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

## Paying with Google Pay from the Customer's Perspective

### Google Pay in Payrexx Pay

Please note that Google Pay will only appear as an available payment method at checkout if:

* the order is placed using a smartphone.
* the customer is using the "Google Chrome" browser.
* the customer is logged into Google Pay.

### Google Pay in Payrexx Pay Plus

* the customer is using the "Google Chrome" browser.
* the customer is logged into Google Pay.

## Security: SCA and PSD2

Online payments processed in countries within the European Economic Area (EEA) must comply with the strong customer authentication (SCA) requirements as per the second Payment Services Directive (PSD2).

Payrexx supports only the tokenized authentication method (CRYPTOGRAM\_3DS) for transactions with Google Pay. Most credit card issuers accept this as an authentication method. Therefore, no 3D Secure authentication is required for this method.
