Information about specific payment methods

SEPA Direct Debit

To receive payments via this direct debit method, you need a so-called Creditor Identifier (Creditor ID). This ID is submitted to the respective bank along with your direct debit mandate and confirms that your business is authorized to withdraw funds from the customer’s account. Further information is available on the Stripe website.

Apple Pay

If you want to accept payments via Apple Pay through Stripe, please refer to the following article:

Payouts

Important notes

Payouts to your bank account are processed in accordance with Stripe's guidelines.

It is crucial to provide accurate payout details and select the correct business type when registering with Stripe:

  • Sole proprietors are considered natural persons: As a result, payouts are always issued in the name of the designated Company Representative registered with Stripe. The linked bank account must therefore be in this person's name — not the company name.

  • Legal entities such as GmbH or AG are considered legal persons: In this case, payouts are issued in the registered company name. The associated bank account must be under the company’s name — not under an individual’s name.

Stripe will only initiate payouts once your account has been successfully verified.

When and how are payouts made?

After a customer successfully completes a purchase, the payment is reviewed by Stripe, the credit card acquirer. During this process, security checks are performed. This typically takes at least seven days.

Once the review is complete, the funds are credited to your Stripe account and then transferred to your bank account. You can define the payout frequency and schedule in your Stripe account settings:

Amounts greater than CHF/EUR 25.00 are transferred to your bank account within a few days. Amounts below CHF/EUR 25.00 will only be paid out once your total Stripe balance reaches that threshold. This may only occur after multiple transactions, depending on your sales volume.

Where are the funds sent?

Funds are transferred from your Stripe account to the bank account you have registered with Stripe.

FAQ About Stripe

How are transaction fees paid?

The transaction fees charged by Stripe are deducted directly from each transaction. For the transaction fees charged by Payrexx, you will receive an invoice — either once the accumulated fees reach a total of CHF/EUR 10.00, or once they have reached CHF/EUR 5.00 and the first transaction dates back at least 90 days.

Payrexx fees vary depending on your plan and range between 0.5% and 0.2% per transaction. Once you have paid your transaction fees once via credit card, all future fees will be automatically charged.

How does Stripe handle invalid cards and orders?

Stripe helps prevent fraud by detecting suspicious activity. For example, Stripe declines transactions for repeated or duplicate orders. In addition, Stripe collaborates with global partners and credit card networks to monitor and combat fraud on a broader scale. You can find more information about fraud prevention on the Stripe website.

Which currencies can I use?

Stripe supports over 135 currencies worldwide. The number of currencies available to you depends on the country in which your bank account is located. For more information about supported currencies, please refer to the Stripe website.

How much do refunds cost?

Refunds are free with Stripe: When you issue a refund, Stripe credits the transaction fee back to your bank account. Further details about how refunds are processed can be found on the Stripe website.
