HeyLight

This article explains how to integrate HeyLight as an external payment provider in Payrexx to receive payments.

General Information

HeyLight, until 10 September 2024 known as HeidiPay, is a card-based buy-now-pay-later payment solution from Switzerland, offering merchants the ability to provide their customers with monthly payment plans.

Merchants can choose whether to finance the purchases themselves or to pass the interest costs on to the customers. The merchant receives the full amount upfront, as HeyLight assumes the credit and fraud risks.

Setup

Please follow the instructions below to integrate HeyLight as an external payment provider in Payrexx.

Configuration of Payrexx

Make sure you're logged in to your Payrexx account before you begin. If you don’t have a Payrexx account yet, you can register now.

Request a contract offer from HeyLight

  1. Navigate in the Payrexx backend to Payment Providers > Credit cards and debit cards > HeyLight and click on "Setup":

  1. In the next step, click on the green button labeled "Yes, I want an offer":

  1. To receive a contract offer, please fill out the form. By clicking the "Request offer now" button, your information will be sent to HeyLight:

  1. HeyLight will contact you within a few days and provide you with two API keys among other things, which you can use to complete the installation.

Completing the configuration of HeyLight

After receiving the email from HeyLight, you can complete the configuration. Please proceed as follows:

  1. Navigate in the Payrexx backend to Payment Providers > Credit cards and debit cards > HeyLight and click on "Setup".

  2. Respond to the question about receiving a contract offer with "No, not now".

In the following screen, you can configure the settings for HeyLight:

  1. Choose whether you want to set up HeyLight in Test mode or go live immediately.

  2. Activate the currency CHF (HeyLight does not support other currencies).

  3. Copy the API keys from the HeyLight email into the designated fields.

  4. Complete the setup by clicking on the green "Save" button.

Paying with HeyLight

The only things customers need to pay with HeyLight are a smartphone and a credit or debit card. The following steps outline the payment process from the customer's perspective.

  1. The customer selects "HeyLight" as the payment solution at checkout:

  2. In the next step, the customer selects the number of installments in which the amount will be settled.

  1. The customer enters their mobile phone number.

  1. The customer receives a 6-digit verification code via SMS, which they must use to verify their phone number.

  1. In the next step, the customer provides their date of birth and residence status in Switzerland.

  1. In the final step, enter the card details (only credit and debit cards issued in Switzerland by Visa, Mastercard, and American Express are accepted).

  1. After clicking the "Continue" button, the customer is redirected to Payrexx, completing the payment process.

The first installment is charged directly to the customer's credit or debit card, with subsequent installments automatically debited according to the selected payment plan.

The merchant receives the full amount, minus transaction fees, direct from HeyLight.

For higher amounts, customers may need to verify their identity through a fully automated identity check (ID Check).
