Learn how to use the test mode to thoroughly test payment providers, payment methods, and features in Payrexx before accepting live payments.

Our test mode allows you to simulate transactions with various payment providers.

If you wish to test while also accepting live payments, please create a second Payrexx account for testing purposes.

Preparation

Before you can start testing, you need a verified Payrexx account and at least one configured payment provider.

Sign up for Payrexx (the trial subscription is sufficient for testing purposes) or log in to your existing Payrexx account.
Complete the account verification process and wait for the confirmation of successful verification.
Set up either Payrexx Pay, Payrexx Pay Plus, or one of the external payment providers.
Navigate to Payment providers and click on "Configure" for the desired payment provider:

Change the value in the "Mode" field from "Live" to "Test" and save your changes:

The easiest way to test is to use the terminal. However, you can also test with any other Payrexx tool. It is best to choose the tool you use or will use most frequently.

When the payment provider is in test mode, a corresponding message will be displayed, and the payment methods will be labeled "TEST":

Please note that these credit card details will only work when Payrexx Pay is in test mode.

In Payrexx Pay, the test mode is available for the following payment methods:

The payment status of test transactions with TWINT, PostFinance Pay, and Purchase on Invoice is always "Confirmed."

Test Cards in the Gateway for Test Payments

When a payment provider is in test mode, the test cards will be visible in the gateway, allowing you to simulate payments. This way, you can test the payment process without having to conduct real transactions:
