Giropay is the online payment method offered by banks and savings banks in Germany.

The following features are available in the Payrexx merchant administration panel:

## Country Availability

Giropay is exclusively available for merchants in :flag\_de: Germany.

## Setup

Please follow the instructions below to integrate giropay as an external payment provider in Payrexx.

### Configuration of GiroSolution

* Log into your [GiroCockpit](https://www.girocockpit.de/) account.
* Create a new project there, selecting the "Test" option in the "Modus" field:

* After creating the project, you will find the access credentials under "Projektprofil," which you will need in a later step when setting up in Payrexx.

### Configuration of Payrexx

Make sure you're [logged in](https://login.payrexx.com/) to your Payrexx account before you begin. If you don’t have a Payrexx account yet, you can [register](https://signup.payrexx.com/) now.

* In the main menu of your Payrexx account, navigate to **Payment providers**.
* Click on "Show" under "Alternative payment methods."
* Click on "Setup" next to giropay:

A new window will open where you need to make the following settings:

1. Copy the Verkäufer-ID from your giropay project into this field.
2. Copy the Projekt-ID from your giropay project into this field.
3. Copy the Projekt-Passwort from your giropay project into this field.
4. Click on "Edit Fees" and enter the fees as specified in your contract with giropay.

#### Switch from Test Mode to Live Mode

The giropay payment provider is initially in test mode, allowing you to check if everything is working correctly. At the same time, GiroSolution will verify that all contract documents are in place.

Once GiroSolution has successfully completed this verification, you will be notified via email.

Then, in your GiroCockpit, change the project status from test to live so that your customers can pay with giropay.
