Preventing disputes of the "Duplicate" type: Learn how it's done properly.

Duplicate payments often occur due to technical problems in the webshop. If a technical error occurs during the ordering process and the customer repeats the transaction, two transactions may end up being made. If the cardholder then sees a payment twice or more on their statement, they may dispute such payments.

Don't worry: there are a few tricks to minimize cases of "duplicate payment".

  • regular checking of the web store for any technical errors

  • automated or at least manual checking of the ordering system for duplicate and multiple orders

  • immediate removal of obvious duplicate and multiple orders

  • immediate customer communication in the event of duplicate and multiple orders

  • dispatch of clear and detailed order confirmations

  • immediate fulfillment of refund requests due to duplicate payments
