Payouts as of 3 January 2026

As of 3 January 2026, Payrexx will adjust its payout modalities. In this article, you will learn what will change.

Payout intervals

Payrexx offers three payout intervals:

  • daily

  • weekly

  • monthly

Starting 3 January 2026, payouts will by default be processed daily (Monday to Friday).

The new payout modalities provide for daily, automatic payouts on business days (Monday to Friday), whereby Saturday and Sunday are not considered business days. This means: if the account is set to daily payouts with a payout speed of 3 days, funds from transactions that were processed at least three business days earlier will be paid out on business days (Monday to Friday).

Changing the payout interval

If desired, weekly and monthly payout intervals can also be activated. The available options further depend on additional factors such as the industry and the company’s risk level. High-risk businesses are assigned weekly or monthly payout intervals, whereas lower-risk businesses are eligible for daily payouts.

Switch from the 8-day rule to the 3-day rule

As of 3 January 2026, the current 8-day rule will be replaced by the new 3-day rule.

3-day rule

The 3-day rule applies to online payments. Transactions made via POS terminals are not held for three days, but for two days before being paid out.

The new payout modalities provide for daily, automatic payouts on business days (Monday to Friday), whereby Saturday and Sunday are not considered business days.

A delay of 3 business days applies to payouts. This means that on business days, funds from transactions that were generated at least 3 business days earlier will be paid out.

A transaction from Monday will flow into the payout no earlier than the following Thursday (provided that there is no public holiday in between). Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays are not considered business days and extend the 3-day period accordingly.

Example 1: Standard case

There are no weekends or public holidays between the transaction and the payout. The payout takes place three days after the transaction:

Only business days between the transaction and the payout

Example 2: Delay due to weekend

A weekend lies between the transaction and the payout. The payout is delayed by two days:

A weekend lies between the transaction and the payout

Example 3: Delay due to weekend and public holiday

A weekend and a public holiday lie between the transaction and the payout. The payout is delayed by three days.

If the scheduled payout date falls on a public holiday, the payout will be postponed accordingly. In the following example, there may be six calendar days (three business days) between the transaction (Thursday) and the payout (Wednesday):

A weekend and a public holiday lie between the transaction and the payout

Example 4: Revenues from Friday to Sunday

Revenues from Friday to Sunday are paid out together on the following Wednesday, provided that Wednesday is not a public holiday. There are three business days between Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday:

The time it takes to receive a payout from customer transactions may depend not only on the selected payout interval, but also on other factors such as the industry and the company’s risk level. High-risk businesses are assigned weekly or monthly payout intervals, while lower-risk businesses are eligible for faster payout speeds.
