Creating a Merchant Account

This article explains how to create a new merchant account within your platform.

A new merchant account can be created via the signup page, by duplicating an existing merchant account or by using the Service API.

Creating a Merchant Account via the Signup Page

New merchants can access the signup page via the link https://login.domain.com.

You can also access the signup page by navigating to Merchants in the platform administration of your Payrexx account and clicking the "+ Create merchant account" button:

The signup page will open, where you can register the new merchant:

  1. Email address: Enter the merchant’s email address. A six-digit verification code will be sent to this email in the next step. Additionally, an administrator user account will be created with this address.

  2. Desired name: Enter the desired instance name for the merchant. The instance name is part of the URL for the merchant’s payment pages. If you choose "example" as the instance name, the URL will be: https://example.your-domain.com/

  3. Sign up for free: Click the blue button to proceed with the account creation.

In the next step, the six-digit verification code sent to the previously entered email address must be entered:

Finally, a few company details must be provided. After this, the account creation process is complete.

Creating a Merchant Account by Duplicating an Existing Account

Another way to create a merchant account is by copying and modifying an existing account.

In the platform administration of your Payrexx account, navigate to Merchants, hover over the row of the merchant you want to copy as a template for the new merchant, and click the "Duplicate" icon:

In the following window, specify the instance name and administrator email address for the new merchant:

  1. Instance name: Enter the desired instance name for the merchant. The instance name is part of the URL for the merchant’s payment pages. If you choose "example" as the instance name, the URL will be: https://example.your-domain.com.

  2. Administrator email address: Enter the merchant’s email address. An email containing login credentials (an automatically generated password) will be sent to this address in the next step. Additionally, an administrator user account will be created with this email.

Click "Copy" to finalize the creation of the new merchant.

Remember to update the company information inherited from the copied merchant after creating the account, if it differs.
