References
This article explains what references are, what they are used for, and how to create reference codes in Payrexx.
What Are References?
In Payrexx, a reference is a code that serves two purposes: it enables tracking of merchant signups and, if desired, can be used as a discount code to offer merchants subscriptions at a reduced price.
Overview of References
If you have already created reference codes, you can find them in your platform administration under Referrals.

1. Finding references
To find a reference code, you can use the filter function to narrow search results by specific channels. Additionally, you can search for a specific code using the search field.
2. List of created reference codes
Below is the list of already created reference codes. The following information is displayed:
Status: Active (the code is valid) or inactive (the code is not valid)
Signups: Number of merchants who have registered on the platform using the respective code
Sales: Number of purchased and paid plans associated with the reference code
Validity: Validity of the reference code (either unlimited or with an expiration date)
Discount: Discount applied to the purchase of a plan
Managing Reference Codes
In the following sections, you will learn how to create, edit, and delete reference codes.
Creating a reference code
To create a reference code, click the green "Add" button at the top of the window and fill in the fields accordingly:

1. Status
Set whether the reference code is active or inactive.
2. Reference code
Choose any name for the reference code. This name will be part of the URL you use in the respective campaign to enable tracking. Example:
Discount code: test
3. Channel
Select a channel from the list to assign the reference code to a specific campaign or medium, enabling tracking.
4. Comments
Describe the purpose of the reference code.
5. Discount (Yes/No)
Specify whether merchants will receive a discount when registering using the reference code.
6. Discount percentage
Enter the discount percentage if you selected "Yes" in the previous step. Please note that the discount cannot be changed after the reference code has been saved.
Restrictions
7. Expiration date
Leave this field empty to create a reference code with unlimited validity, or set an expiration date to limit its validity period.
8. Products
Here you can select which products will be displayed during registration via your reference code. If you enable the toggle, the selected product will automatically be assigned to the registering merchant.

Editing a reference code

How to Use Reference Codes
TTo use a reference code, click on the link next to the corresponding code in the overview:

The registration page will open with the reference code included in the URL, ensuring that the merchant’s signup is attributed to the reference code and, consequently, to the assigned channel: https://signup.your-domain.com/en?ref=test
If a discount is linked to the reference code, it will be applied automatically. The discount takes effect as soon as the new merchant selects a plan or – in the case of a single product – adds it directly.

Links generated in this way can be used in all your campaigns to track and measure their success.
