Tap to Pay is a technology that enables merchants to accept payments at the point of sale without the need for a traditional payment terminal. With Tap to Pay, a smartphone or tablet takes on the role of the terminal.

How Tap to Pay Works

With Tap to Pay, payments are processed through an app installed on the merchant's smartphone or tablet. Transactions are carried out using NFC (Near Field Communication) technology.

NFC stands for "Near Field Communication" and is an international standard based on RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology, allowing for contactless data exchange.

Compatible Devices

In order to use the Tap to Pay app, the device must meet the following requirements:

• Android version 8.1 or higher

• NFC compatibility

• Google Mobile Services

• TEE in a SoC (Trusted Execution Environment in a System on a Chip)

• Developer options on the device must be disabled

To ensure the functionality of Tap to Pay, security updates must be regularly installed on the device.

Within an account, the app can be activated on one or more devices.
