# Tokenizations

Tokenization refers to the storage of a credit card for future payments. The credit card data is saved as a token for both the customer and the merchant.

## Creating a Tokenization

The following article shows you how to create tokenizations in Payrexx:

{% endcontent-ref %}

## Viewing Tokenizations

To view the created tokenizations, navigate to **Payments > Tokenizations** in the main menu of your merchant administration:

### Payment Status

* The status "Uncharged" means that a tokenization has taken place, but the amount has not yet been charged.
* The status "Charged" means that the amount has been collected, and the card can be charged recurrently in the future.
